Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

Today the Chancellor announced a 4 month extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to 31 October 2020

New flexibility will be introduced from August which will allow furloughed workers to return to work part-time with employers being asked to pay a percentage towards the salaries of their furloughed staff

Detailed government guidance documents have not yet been updated to reflect this, hence this summary has not been updated in detail to remain consistent with GOV.UK. It is anticipated that guidance will be updated by the end of May.

The scheme will continue in its current form until the end of July.
