Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme
Today the Chancellor announced a 4 month extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to 31 October 2020
New flexibility will be introduced from August which will allow furloughed workers to return to work part-time with employers being asked to pay a percentage towards the salaries of their furloughed staff
Detailed government guidance documents have not yet been updated to reflect this, hence this summary has not been updated in detail to remain consistent with GOV.UK. It is anticipated that guidance will be updated by the end of May.
The scheme will continue in its current form until the end of July.
Business Support Fund
- Additional £31m set aside to extend Small Business Grant Scheme to premises which quality for charitable or sports rates relief but which would otherwise have been eligible for the small business bonus scheme.
- Charities occupying these properties can now receive small business grants worth £10,000 for the first property, and £7,500 for any subsequent property owned by the same organisation.
Creative, Tourism & Hospitality Enterprises Hardship Fund
- Reference to ‘you are not in receipt of other COVID-19 government support, except the Furlough Scheme’ removed from eligibility criteria list.
