Volunteer Week

Volunteer Case Study – Jim Gibson

This week we are celebrating Volunteers’ Week by sharing stories from some of the people who give up their time to help and support young people in Moray.

Here’s what Jim Gibson thinks…

“Having finally retired I was looking for an opportunity that would let me put something back into the community and the Young Mentor scheme seemed to tick a lot of boxes.

“If I can help a young person and hopefully give them some positive guidance gained from my life and business experience I will be very happy as I want ‘to make a difference’.

“At an hour a week the commitment is not too onerous and I would encourage anybody to give it a go.

“I am at the beginning of my mentoring journey having just met my mentee last week and I look forward to building relationship that is young person led, we already have common interests in football.”
